If
I could, I'd work in the magazine industry. Magazine layout
can be really beautiful, just look at Wallpaper, or ESPN The
Magazine. Superb. Online magazines can be fun too, at least
they were a few years ago, now it's all created with yucky content
management systems managed by a bunch of interns.
Snowboarding
Online ::::
When I left Daniels and Roberts to work for InterZine Productions,
I soon became the Art Director for SOL Snowboarding Online,
and it was one of the best experiences of my professional life.
Court
TV Redesign ::::
Preliminary design comps for their 2001 redesign. This is one
of those contract jobs where you're thankful for hourly billing.
These guys could not make up their mind.
SkiNet.com
::::
When I left Interzine for Ingalls Interactive, I still managed
to get some contract work from Times Mirror (they bought Interzine)
doing event sites and graphical skins on special front-end engines.
Outdoor
Explorer (Times Mirror) ::::
A quick mockup of a proposed "look and feel" for Times
Mirror's new outdoor magazine, "Outdoor Explorer".
Around that time, they finally got an internal art director,
so that was the end of my contracting relationship with Times
Mirror. Shucks!
Windcar
2001 (AXN Network) ::::
I was hired to design some front-end templates for an event
site for the AXN Network in Latin America network.
