As
far as me being an interactive art director, application design
is where the market has seemingly diverted to. Gone are the
days of a client spending 60 grand on a glossy 10 page brochureware
site. But to tell you the truth, I like the design and challenges
of re-skinning an application, or taking a product a developer
put together and showing them the potential of where it can
go. People really try to push the creative and IA on the back
burner, but it really is where it all starts once business requirements
are specked. People tend to get carried away with the process
and yell "Code, Code, Development, Development, Rah, Rah!"
But where's the design budget? Boo-hoo.
