DESCRIPTION

"Merlin" is an internal codename of a management
application for security based products. CASI-RUSCO manufactures
and develops security technology. (CCTV systems, card readers,
building alarms) GE Interlogix is the parent company.

Design was contracted to design and deliver coded front-end
JSP pages for a series of templates that would then be replicated
by GE Interlogix's internal development team for the rest
of the application. The application was already built when
I was contacted by GE. I was recommended to them as an experienced
application designer. They basically had a browser-based application
that's shipped with their product suite, but it was designed
and developed internally with no experienced designer or usability
expert on hand to see it through. The end result was a very
crude interface, and did not reflect the professionalism needed
to compete in the market space.
